Character name: Acornfoot
Clan: Windclan
Gender: Male
Age: 60 moons (five years and one month)
Rank: Medicine Cat
Appearance: Acornfoot is a scrawny tom with a somewhat ragged brown pelt; it tends to stick out a lot around his shoulder blades. His front left paw is a slightly darker shade of brown than the rest of his pelt, thus creating the "foot" suffix. His eyes are a clear yellow color.
Personality: If a cat were to use one word to describe Acornfoot, it would more than likely be "unsympathetic". He, at one point, loved and cared for all of his clanmates, but after so many cases of his clanmates injuring themselves for seemingly pointless and mousebrained reasons, he stopped caring about them and their "whining". This has also caused him to have a somewhat sarcastic and equally uncaring look on life. Despite his uncaring and unsympathetic attitude, he still knows what he's doing when it comes to his work, and he is quite proud of that fact. Cats that try to question what he does receive a cold shoulder for quite a long time. When it comes time for a large bout of sickness within the clan, Acornfoot works very well; he's somewhat lazy when it comes to nonserious illnesses, but he works extremely well under stress. While he does respects cats of a higher rank than himself, he doesn't spare them from his attitude and will openly question them if the feeling arises. However, he would be fair to an apprentice of his own, as he understands how difficult it is to be a medicine cat, and will do his best to teach them everything he knows.
History: Acornkit had a fairly average kithood. He played with leaves, played warrior, and sneaked out of the camp more times than he can currently recount. When the need for a new medicine cat arose due to the previous one's (Flintpetal) old age. As there was only one litter of kits at the time, Acornkit and his siblings were the only choices. His other siblings were stronger and more likely to flourish as warriors, so Acornkit was the one selected.
When apprenticed to Flintpetal, Acornpaw was slightly disappointed; after all, every cat would love to train alongside their littermates. He carried on and worked as hard as he could, despite his disappointment. After all, the medicine cats hold an important to purpose to all of the clans. Flintpetal was a wonderful mentor for Acornpaw, and she was incredibly patient with him as he worked towards learning all of the herbs and interpreting signs. He learned best when Flintpetal threw him into the water and made him swim, meaning that she made him take care of a sick or hurt cat and would pretend she needed to go gather herbs right then and there. In the end, her obscure teaching methods helped him learn quickly and go on instinct if need be.
Shortly after being awarded with his full medicine cat name of Acornfoot, his mentor passed away. While mourning her loss, Acornfoot swamped himself in his work to try to make her proud of him. At first, he absolutely adored working alone; not being told what to do, being respected, and being trusted by the leader with secrets....What in the world could be better? However, it didn't take long before he slowly began to burn himself out. So many cats would come in complaining of pains and sprains they caused themselves while trying to show off, and he couldn't understand why. He was their medicine cat, not their babysitter. He became short and cross with them more and more quickly. Recently, that's all he has been with other cats, so a lot of cats just believe he's always been that way.
